Rabbi Moshe Schlass

Rabbi Moshe Schlass is a seasoned photographer in Jerusalem, Israel. His dynamic personality and empathy shine in all his works. Born in Poland in 1939, he went through the deportation camps and landed up by miracle in New York, USA in 1949. Moshe has traveled extensively around the world including France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Algeria, Poland, Tunisia and many more.
In 1973, he had a historic meeting with the Lubavitcher Rebbe that proved to be life-changing. After meeting the Rebbe, Moshe made a daring business move, making his famous macrobiotic restaurant (The Caldron) kosher and Shabbat observant. It would turn out to be the only kosher health food restaurant in New York and flourished tremendously after this big decision!

In 1978, Moshe moved to Jerusalem and opened up a Chabad House in the Old City. With the help of his wife Leah, he has hosted and fed tens of thousands of people from all around the globe! In 2008, a guest offered him a free camera and this was the beginning of a beautiful and inspirational journey seeing only good from behind the lens.

Moshe spends 4-5 hours a day, 6 days a week at the Western Wall, connecting and interacting, taking photos of people at the Wall that united us all. It’s this combination of his travels around the world, hippy beatnik past and his professional cooking background, that helps him see the intrinsic unity and goodness amongst all people. http://www.intimatewiththeinfinite.com/
